Daniel Isles is an English illustrator and comic artist who works under the pen name DirtyRobot.,He was born in England and lives in Hokkaido, Japan.His practice spans traditional pencil-and-ink illustration and comics to large-scale NFT projects, built around themes of fantasy, futurism and spirituality.
Isles grew up in Birmingham, England, where his early interest in art was shaped by Saturday-morning cartoons, comics and video games. He studied Art and Design in college, and counts the comic artist Moebius and the animator Satoshi Kon among his influences.
His one-of-one artworks have sold on SuperRare, including Flying Circuit for more than $70,000. In March 2022 he released The Art of Seasons, a collection of dynamic illustrations of the four seasons.Later that year he launched RENGA, a 10,000-piece PFP collection named after a form of collaborative Japanese poetry, distributed through Black Box NFTs that holders could burn for a RENGA PFP.,
Isles has also worked in comics, credited as an artist on DC's graphic novel Mister Miracle: The Great Escape.In 2023 he contributed to Perpetuals: Beginnings, a Bitcoin Ordinals collaboration by Quadrillion Art bringing together 21 artists, each contributing a limited edition artwork.In 2026 he released Feed the Machine as card #487 of 6529's The Memes.
