ilithya is a multidisciplinary artist, creative technologist and educator from México, based in Hamburg, Germany. Self-taught as a programmer, she creates computational artworks written mainly in GLSL shaders, producing hypnotic, meditative visuals for the web, live coding performances and audiovisual installations.,
In 2023 she released Net Net Net, a 33-piece generative collection made with Erin Wajufos on Art Blocks that draws on net art and glitch art nostalgia from the early internet, juxtaposing disordered geometric shapes against orderly patterns reminiscent of early graphical interfaces.A year later a grant from MARKK Museum in Hamburg supported Floral Neurons, an interactive installation for the museum's Día de los Muertos exhibit that used hand tracking so visitors could reshape kaleidoscopic patterns inspired by the flowers, sugar skulls and Mexica symbols associated with the holiday.She has also developed a pixel shaders course through Academy by Blind Gallery, launched in 2024, and worked as a part-time research assistant in AI at HAWK University, developing a retrieval-augmented generation process with open-source language models.,,
Her practice extends into live audiovisual performance, pairing real-time shader visuals with musicians such as Timo Johannes and Aaron Graham.,Drifts, a 2025 commission for the KNOTENPUNKT25 vernissage at Affenfaust Galerie in Hamburg, paired her live-coded visuals with Johannes's live modular synthesizer performance and was later projected as a six-week installation at the gallery.,,Consciousness, a 2023 commission for the Bideotikan International Art Festival in Bilbao, and animated pieces shown at Refraction x Dig Shibuya on Tokyo's Shibuya Crossing in 2024 extended this practice of large-scale public projection.,Her work has also been projected at Night Lights Denver in Denver and featured by Studio 13/16 at the Centre Pompidou.,
