HOXID is a multidisciplinary artist working in 3D and sound design who creates monochrome audiovisual works built on rhythmic, repeating motion, akin to the steady swing of a metronome.,Each piece typically includes a looping soundtrack that adds to the experience without being essential to the work.
HOXID grew up in one of the world's most populous cities, home to some 25 million people. He studied visual design and art history before completing a master's degree in music technology. HOXID previously worked as a graphic designer for a game company before moving into art full time, and he is based in Europe. He began making motion graphics with Flash and briefly used Cinema 4D before returning to 3D work, which he has pursued full time since. He minted his first NFT in March 2021, beginning with the still-image series M.C.C.R.T.A, made on a computer too slow to render animation.
His monochrome style draws on his long-standing interest in black-and-white photography. He creates his 3D animations in Cinema 4D with After Effects and draws his sound design from a personal archive of field recordings built up over several years.ALIGNED carries this monochrome style and depicts the social construct of time zones and humanity's synchronous existence. In 2024 his exhibition “The Frame”, presented by Tesserart, appeared at TezDev events in Basel and Brussels.,
