Henry Daubrez is an artist and director who conceives artworks and films using artificial intelligence tools.,He spent two decades as a designer, director, and creative director in advertising, including as global VP of creative innovation and design at DEPT and CCO of DogStudio/DEPT. Some of his AI-made art has sold at Sotheby's for five figures, and his work has been exhibited internationally.
Daubrez grew up in the small Belgian town of Vottem. He initially studied computer science in college, until watching a documentary about the visual-effects studio Weta Digital convinced him to pursue design and film instead.
Among his favorite projects is a permanent interactive wall installation he made for Navy Pier in Chicago.In 2024, working with a fine-tuned AI model, hand modification, latent upscaling, kitbashing, and re-photoshopping, he made Memento Mori, a set of twelve artworks exploring surreal isolation and mortality, released via a SuperRare auction.That same year, he directed Kitsune, a short film assembled from more than 1,700 curated shots made with Google's Veo 2 AI model, and the first Veo-made short to be covered as cinema rather than as a demo.The film drew Google's attention, and in 2025 the company recruited him as resident filmmaker and creative director at Google Labs.,He also worked with Coca-Cola on an AI-assisted film for the Runway AI Film Festival, built around storytelling and made with traditional animators alongside the AI tools.
