Henrique Cartaxo is a Brazilian multidisciplinary video artist, documentarist, and film editor, also known by the alias Augurs, whose practice bridges film and the NFT space. His work incorporates autobiographical documentary, video art, glitch aesthetics, creative coding, and AI. His film editing has been presented in competition at festivals including Cannes and Sundance.
His films have screened at DocLisboa, True/False, and the Uppsala International Short Film Festival, and his artworks have been shown at institutions and festivals in Chicago, New York, Los Angeles, Brussels, Lisbon, Istanbul, and São Paulo.In February 2022 he released RGB Augurs on Ethereum through the platform Verse. His work How to Give a Farewell Hug and Be Perceived as Normal was released through Fakewhale.
In March 2025 he took part in “Visual Detachment”, a 24-artist group show released on Verse through Fakewhale Gallery that examined biases embedded in visual perception, released as a set of 48-hour ranked auctions.That June, he served as one of the invited curators, alongside Diane Drubay and Trippy Collector, for the Architecture edition of “ACTZ Commissions”, selecting artists from an open call.
