Heather N. Stout is an American interdisciplinary artist and actor whose practice spans photography, sculpture, printmaking, painting and performance-informed visual work. Her work explores identity, environment, presence and human connection through a synthesis of conceptual inquiry and documentary observation grounded in process, duration and historical awareness.
Her work has been shown in Los Angeles, New York, London, São Paulo and the Venice Biennale. Cernes, Urbem et Promissa, 2024, is presented in two forms: a 9 x 12 inch mixed media painting on matte photo print substrate that comes with a test print, and a 20 x 30 inch single-edition archival print on Hahnemühle Baryta fine art paper paired with an NFT. Her 2025 sculpture Resonare Velata combines wire, cloth, plaster, resin, acrylic paint, vinyl stickers, fabric and a mirror base, and was likewise sold together with an NFT. Her work has also been featured in “Syntax of Sorrow” at Colonna Contemporary, a group show examining whether suffering could be encoded or reproduced in artificial intelligence trained on human experience.
