Hamonshu is a generative artist whose code-based work returns again and again to ripples, waves and flowers, rendered with p5.js and often finished with hand-applied watercolor textures. The name and recurring wave motifs come directly from Hamonshū, a 1903 Japanese pattern book of wave and ripple designs that the artist has cited as a direct source of inspiration.
Pieces such as Paradise are made entirely with code, using layered rings and circular geometry to suggest ripples spreading across water. For Sacred, made as a tribute to the lotus, Hamonshu applied watercolor effects and weathered textures by hand in a photo editor, saying the piece felt cold and rigid without that extra pass. In Flower Study, camellia petals rendered through code became a study in geometric symmetry.
