Guido Corallo (Argentine, b. 1978), also known as GCRLL, is a generative artist and programmer based in Buenos Aires.,,He makes interactive, algorithm-driven images and animations that explore generativity, complexity, and the mix of analog and digital.,His compositions favor architectural motifs over biological ones, though he has said they often end up looking biological anyway.
Corallo began studying biology at the University of Buenos Aires in 2001, doing research in the university's Molecular Devices and Integrative Neuroscience laboratories alongside teaching and science outreach work.He had planned to become a scientist, but realized life in a laboratory was not for him, and his visual education instead came from the scientific images used in zoology, botany, and histology. In 2007 he shifted fully into programming, moving from commercial interactive applications into making images almost exclusively.,
Corallo has said he found Argentina's small Processing programming community by searching online, quickly connecting with other artists including Leonardo Solaas.His generative animation Tiempo gráfico/versus, made with Processing, dates to 2017.In November 2023 he released Vertigo Las Luces through Bright Moments in Buenos Aires, a collection inspired by the city's lights and the way its architecture distorts when viewed from a moving car in long exposure.He also released the project Antennas on Art Blocks Factory.Corallo's work has been shown at venues including the Centro Cultural Kirchner and the Bienal Internacional de Arte Digital The Wrong.
