Genlight, also known as Adam Genlight, is a generative artist who began making art with code in 2015. His first collection, Folded Faces, used multi-warped noise and pareidolia to generate infinite abstract imagery. He later turned to generative fairy tales, using code to explore nostalgia and storytelling.
In 2023 he released A Daydream For Libby through gmStudio, a generative fairy tale book that followed his earlier work A Fundamental Dispute. Genlight has also written essays on his Substack examining novelty and taste in generative aesthetics, including how frequently used techniques such as flow fields can produce a sense of visual cliché.
In 2024 he was one of several artists invited to design a color palette for Minimizer's collaborative collection Scribble Together, released through Plottables.
