Fer Caggiano is a Brazilian painter and NFT artist whose work moves between figurative portraiture, feminist projects, and blockchain-based collections.,She trained at the Art Students League of New York in the early 2000s after an earlier career in marketing and advertising, and has since exhibited across the United States, Europe, and Brazil.,
She began exhibiting internationally in the early 2000s, winning the 2002 SOHO International Art Competition and showing at New York's Agora Gallery and in London.After years of international recognition, she left the art world, returning to Brazil to spend four years as a resident artist and volunteer at a Buddhist temple and a meditation school.,In her own words, those years taught her “what it actually means to make something for reasons other than being seen”.
While based in South Carolina, she painted 40 local women for the solo exhibition “Like a Girl: Dare to Dream”, shown at Charleston's City Gallery in 2021.,The project began after she was criticized for painting nudes and concluded that a man would not have faced the same criticism, so she set out to give young women role models to look up to. She published a book of the women's portraits and stories, and ran a fundraiser that supported three local associations.
She shifted her practice toward NFTs a few years later, telling one interviewer she was drawn in by a charitable project and stayed because she believes blockchain can preserve art as history.Her web3-era work has appeared in NFT.NYC's Artist's Village at the Javits Center and on Times Square billboards, including for a piece called Phoenix NFT in 2022. In 2025 it was shown in a digital-art takeover of the National Library of Romania during ETH Bucharest.She has returned to Brazil to build a painting studio in Itupeva, São Paulo, working again in paint, texture, and canvas.
