Bio

Fahmi Mursyid is an Indonesian experimental artist, musician and multimedia designer based in Bandung, West Java.^,^, His work spans abstract painting, glitch-based visual art, sound, video, performance and NFTs, often built from found objects, granular synthesis and analog signal processing. He has released recordings under various monikers and labels since 2011, and has exhibited internationally in the US, Mexico, the UK, Australia and Finland.^,

His work has been featured by Resident Advisor, The Wire and Ars Electronica Festival Garden NYC, among others. In 2019 he released a six-track mini-album on Grand River's label One Instrument, which requires each artist to compose using only one instrument. For the album he used traditional Sundanese Indonesian instruments across nearly all of the tracks, recording each with a single condenser microphone.

He began minting glitch-pixel and pixel-sorting works on Hic et Nunc in April 2021. His series DITHERHYTHM, begun in February 2024, combines dithering, a noise technique used to simulate extra colors in limited palettes, with rhythmic, looping GIF animations. His series ALEATORY is a real-time generative work made with code, combining glitch aesthetics, modular video synthesis, algorithmic composition and an interactive audio track.
