VJ Entter (b. 1977) is an artist and designer from Barcelona whose practice is closely tied to video games and electronic music. Working with lo-fi, low-resolution graphics and drawing on a childhood surrounded by arcade games, chip music and early personal computers, they produce audiovisual performances, installations and, since 2020, blockchain-based art.
Raúl Berrueco, who performs as Entter, studied Fine Arts at the University of the Basque Country between 1996 and 2000. They have curated installations, audiovisual performances, workshops and talks at the Barcelona venues Hangar and the Reial Cercle Artistic de Barcelona. They have also worked as a video artist at the Vidy Theatre in Lausanne, Switzerland, creating audiovisual scenography. In 2007 they created 44422435 with the musician Goto80, a live performance on a Commodore 64 in which the pair manipulated the computer's memory in real time using a Retro Replay cartridge. The recording later entered the Rhizome ArtBase, a digital art collection affiliated with the New Museum in New York. Between 2007 and 2015 they also performed with a collaborator billed as Meneo, including a 2014 show at the Apolo venue in Barcelona built around chipmusic and a live avatar of Pope Francis.
