Ella Hoeppner is a generative artist working with particle systems, focusing on real-time and interactive pieces with vivid abstract textural imagery. She draws on biology, physics and mathematics, developing novel and experimental algorithms to find new directions for code-based generative art.
Based in Virginia, she first encountered fx(hash) through generative art Discord servers in late 2021, after years of treating generative art as a hobby rather than something she could turn into a career. Finding other artists on the platform who, like her, had no connections in the art world gave her the confidence to start submitting her own work. She has said she “would never have gotten to where I am today if it hadn't been for uncurated platforms like fx(hash)”.
