Eko33

Bio

Eko33, the alias of Jean-Jacques Duclaux, has written code to create art since 1999, when he made his first digital works on a Commodore SX-64 using floppy disks. His nonfigurative, generative work forms clear geometric structures using custom algorithms and electronic hardware, and he later began training AI models on his own hand drawings to feed into that process. He lives in the Swiss Alps.

Duclaux studied sociology and later completed a postgraduate degree in cognitive psychology. He has traced his fascination with objectivity and cognitive bias to that training, citing the sociologist Émile Durkheim and the philosopher Karl Popper among his influences.
