Bio
defiantsquid is a digital artist and animator working in the UK. His pixelated paintings explore memory, abstraction, and texture, often reworking familiar scenes into something quieter and more nostalgic. One such piece, Landscape Study #1 (with Visitor), recalls the tradition of British landscape painters such as Constable, Turner, and Wilson.
It reimagines an idyllic UK view populated by a modern figure, the “androgynous and eponymous Visitor”, standing in for both the viewer and the tourists who crowd such scenic spots. The piece was released as a limited edition of 25 Giclée prints on Hahnemühle Bamboo paper, with printing and shipping offset through the Gold Standard initiative.
