deArtifact is a digital artist whose work centers on what he calls “a fleeting and elusive dance of forms”, often portraying the fusion of humanity with technology or with nature and the elements. His style draws on nearly 20 years of experience in digital painting, concept design and matte painting, combining compositing, photography and 3D work with artificial intelligence.
He chose the handle deArtifact because it refers to cleaning up a signal, restoring something to its original clarity. Before establishing his own practice, he worked with established brands and studios, though he has chosen not to discuss that client work and instead focuses on his own artistic voice. He began minting work in early 2021, almost exclusively on the Tezos blockchain, before minting on SuperRare and Foundation after the Ethereum network's 2022 merge. His series Displaced, which includes Displaced - 01 and Displaced - 03, addresses the theme of human displacement.
deArtifact's work has been shown in exhibitions in New York and Los Angeles, and selected by galleries including SuperChiefNFT and AccelerateArt.In 2022 his work was included in “Dark Art Rising” at SuperChief gallery in Los Angeles.
