He holds a BS in advertising from the University of Texas at Austin (2002), a BFA in computer animation from Ringling College of Art and Design (2008), and an MFA in art and technology from the University of Texas at Dallas (2015).¹ He has taught 3D production art at the University of Texas at Austin, and in Spring 2018 was recognized as distinguished faculty in the School of Design and Creative Technology within the College of Fine Arts.³

In 2015 he directed and animated Leptune, a 3D animated feature made in collaboration with composer Neil Anderson-Himmelspach.¹ He has also created games for Apple's iPod, hand-drawn two Pepsi commercials, and produced animation featured by Adult Swim, MTV, the Bonnaroo Music Festival, and Jack U, among others.^2,3 On SuperRare, where he releases work under the name daxnorman_art, he describes himself as a “perpetual motion animation machine”, and has released pieces including Saint Christopher and Mano Me Revelan Su Verdad.⁴ He has cited the advice “A drawing is simply a line going for a walk”, from Paul Klee, as the most valuable he has received.¹
