David Henry Nobody Jr, also credited as David Henry Brown Jr, is a New York performance artist and sculptor who places his own body inside the work.,He transforms himself with masks and consumerist debris into grotesque characters that satirize American celebrity and consumer culture.,,He calls this practice “Resemblagè”, a term for collaging objects directly onto a face or body, and has been showing work since the early 1990s.,
In 1999 he spent a year following Donald Trump for a performance titled Stalking Donald Trump, making 'Trump For President 2000' campaign posters and campaigning on Trump's behalf as part of the piece. In 2000 he spent a year impersonating New York socialite Alex Vonfurstenberg at VIP parties, photographing encounters with figures including the Clintons and Puff Daddy. The resulting photographs were shown as his first solo exhibition, at Roebling Hall gallery in New York, and were covered by The New York Observer and ABC's 20/20. From 2003 to 2013 he was a founding member of Fantastic Nobodies, a six-artist performance art collective that exhibited in New York, notably at Andrew Edlin Gallery and WhiteBox, and in Berlin.,
Under the handle @davidhenrynobodyjr, he built an ongoing series of self-portraits he calls Resemblagè, using body paint, masks, food and found objects to construct each character.,The project was featured in a solo live performance and installation at MOCA Tucson in September 2018,,and press coverage included the BBC, Vice and The Huffington Post.,In January 2021 Unit London presented Resemblagè photographs in the online exhibition “Platform”.,
He began releasing tokenized video and photography work in 2021,and in July 2024 his work was included in Fakewhale's ART MARKET group release on the platform Foundation.,In October 2023 he took part in a Museum of Crypto Art group exhibition of performance artworks curated by OONA.He later returned to painting, producing black velvet paintings and performing as the character PaintoMime, which culminated in the solo exhibition “The Adventures Of PaintoMime” at Satellite Gallery in New York in May 2026.,
