Dave Krugman is a New York-based photographer, crypto artist and writer who founded the creative community ALLSHIPS, built on the idea that “a rising tide raises all ships”.,His photography draws on cyberpunk influences and studies how people and cities shape each other.,He grew up outside Boston, studied psychology at Boston University, and began his career retouching photographs for Annie Leibovitz before moving into advertising work.
He began minting NFTs in 2020, and in September 2021 released DRIVE, 111 one-of-one automobile photographs drawn from a decade of street photography.,In June 2022 he followed it with DRIP DROP, 1,111 photographs of rain-pelted puddles in Times Square, built with a custom algorithm developed with Transient Labs to assign each image its rarity traits.He returned to the format in August 2024 with DRIVE Lap 2, a 333-piece sequel released as 24-hour auctions.
In August 2023 he began ROLLS on SuperRare, selling tokens as placeholders before shooting each image on a Mamiya 7ii film camera and updating the metadata with the finished scan, a process he compared to “a chemical blockchain”.In The Poet (2025), made during a benefit art residency in Mexico's Calakmul Biosphere Reserve alongside five other artists, a long exposure of a moonlit shoreline unexpectedly captured a motionless, unidentified figure.His series WINDOWS, compiled from several years of night photographs of illuminated New York City windows, was arranged into randomized grids to evoke “sonder”, an awareness of the complexity of other people's lives.
Krugman is based in Brooklyn and structures his NFT releases under what he calls a “ring theory of community value”, rewarding earlier collectors with free mints and priority access when he releases new collections.,
