Dan Anthony Kelly is an American multidisciplinary artist based in Spain, working across lo-fi digital animation and digital sculpture. His work reflects his surroundings and life experience, with improvisation playing an important role, ranging in tone from heartwarming to stomach-churning. Since spring 2013 he has produced Draw A Dog Tuesday, a weekly series of looping dog animations drawn on a Nintendo 3DS using the app Inchworm Animation.
Each animation is drawn on a 100x100 pixel canvas. Subject matter ranges from reflections of his daily activities to abstract expressions and, at times, “dog-gif-ied” reinterpretations of other artists' work. His dog series was included in the anthology TzAR: Pixel Art Anthology, published by The Blasted Tree Publishing Co. in August 2025. His piece Chess Mate was included in Scherenschnitt 3.0, a release from GIF Gallery, in 2023.
