Damjanski is a New York-based digital artist who makes apps, software performances and participatory performances. His app Bye Bye Camera removes every person from a picture, and Never Not There, commissioned by the Centre Pompidou and ZKM Karlsruhe, turns each museum into a dystopian server room. He also runs the MEME READING CLUB, in which participants sit in a circle and share memes on their phones.
In 2018 Damjanski co-founded MoMAR, an augmented reality gallery app aimed at democratizing exhibition spaces and curatorial processes within New York's Museum of Modern Art. That year he also created Humans not invited, an online space that only programs can access, which first reached Reddit's front page and was then shown at König Galerie in Berlin. In the series Nude Study, he used Bye Bye Camera to capture parts of his surroundings while erasing human presence. The series was made in collaboration with the movement artist Julia Seal, with a choreography inspired by the RGB colour theme. In 2022 he submitted Unhuman Compositions, a participatory generative photography dapp, to the inaugural Lumen Prize NFT Award.
