Dalos Dov (Mexican, b. 1994) is a visual artist working with artificial intelligence and generative systems to examine what remains constant in human experience as technology accelerates. Born in Veracruz and raised in Guadalajara, Mexico, where he is based, Dov trained as an industrial engineer and worked for years in consulting and operations before turning to art full-time in early 2024.,
Dov designs projects around open questions rather than answers, often using AI, duration, or participation to probe the gap between what machines can simulate and what can only be lived.In Do Machines Dream of Human Bodies? (2025), a 100-piece collection, he asked an AI language model to describe bodily sensations, from dancing to growing up, then fed its descriptions into an image-generation model and asked it to visualize its own interpretation, curating the results that felt most revealing.,
His For Friends project, begun in December 2023, is planned to run for 13 years and grow to 360 portraits, each made from the same fixed instruction to photograph a friend in a medium close-up, facing the camera.,Every portrait combines three generative systems: the photograph itself, an AI-generated background, and a colour filter selected at random by a p5.js script the friend runs themselves.
Dov has exhibited at M2 during Synthetic Mythologies in Miami in December 2025 and at Trilogy during Consensus in Hong Kong in 2026.,He has also curated Generative Emblems, a Bright Moments exhibition in Mexico City in October 2023, and spoke on generative art at Mutek in Mexico City the same month.
