Choen Lee (李春), a pseudonym for a Malaysian artist, makes manga-influenced work about shifting perceptions of self and identity. In 2025 the piece Who Wants to Live Forever? traveled to the Moon aboard the LifeShip Pyramid, launched on Firefly Aerospace's Blue Ghost lunar lander as part of NASA's Commercial Lunar Payload Services programme. The pyramid also carried work by artists including Amy Karle, Richelle Ellis, and Ed Kac.
The manga-influenced piece OBSESSED with You started as a simple image of a girl met at the beach one summer. “Who might she really be beyond your impression and memory of her? What if she's not all that you've projected on her?”, the artist has asked of the work. In 2024 the piece was included in objkt's curation for “Tezos Realm”, a showcase of ten works by APAC artists at CHIJMES in Singapore during TOKEN2049 week.
The same portfolio made the artist a top-10 finalist in the XIV Florence Biennale open call competition. The 1/1 piece Comply! was displayed during Basel Art Week 2024 and released through Foundation.
