Cemejn is a solo artist and developer whose project Leccos uses AI and blockchain tools to generate evolving fictional cultures, characters, and stories. They generate visuals with Stable Diffusion and model forms in Blender. Story and world logic are tested against symbolic systems such as tarot and the I Ching, run through large language models to check for bias.
The project began as a physical gallery show around 2019. Cemejn built an animation piece from it in 2020, the starting point for the blockchain-based world that followed.They conceived its setting as a “webbed mini-world” whose sixteen founding cultures are drawn from the court cards of the tarot.They use blockchain tokens to represent the evolving state of Leccos's characters, places, and stories, which participants can affect, likening the result to a digitized version of Dungeons & Dragons.Cemejn has written that they favor cultivating complexity over minimalist design, citing Stephen Hawking's remark that “the next century will be the century of complexity”. They treat AI as a tool for deepening that complexity — helping them navigate large, information-dense symbolic structures — rather than a shortcut for simplifying their work.
