Caleb Ogg is a generative artist based in Denver, Colorado, who makes geometric compositions in Processing and plots physical works with an Axidraw pen plotter.,He has made geometric art since adolescence, teaching himself coding techniques in 2018 before starting his journey in web3 in 2021.,
In 2021, Ogg began exploring circle packing, the arrangement of circles across a surface without overlap, in a set of works he continued to develop. The circles began to resemble mechanical systems such as engines and conveyor belts, and their apparent kinetic energy led him to animate the pieces, culminating in Machines, his debut collection on the platform Wild. Machines lets collectors manipulate each animated piece directly and view its underlying layers, revealing the construction of gears, conveyor belts, and abstract mechanical forms rendered in a bold color palette.
His ongoing series Coalesce continues this focus on circle and ring packing, generated from an underlying noise field; pieces such as Lens 3 and Colorshift 2 exist as compositions rendered at 16,000 by 16,000 pixels.Ogg generally works in a muted color palette and plots many of his pieces physically.
Ogg, also known by the handle iso.hedron, attended the inaugural Art Blocks gathering in Marfa, Texas, in 2021.The Art Blocks artist Mathias Isaksen has named Ogg among the generative artists whose work he encountered on Instagram early in his own practice.
