C0MPUTERBL00D, also known as COMPUTERBLOOD or Whalesink, is a multidisciplinary artist based in Mars Hill, North Carolina, working out of a studio in Asheville. He creates hybrid image systems that combine digital glitch animation, painting, drawing, sculpture and photography, marked by grotesque humor and themes of flesh colliding with machine.
His work explores what he has described as the sacred leaking into the digital and the unraveling of natural order, and he has taken up heavy impasto oil painting alongside his digital practice. Alongside this work he produces The Poorly Drawn Emperor, an ongoing webcomic. His Skulls of Lucifer is a daily drawing exercise and PFP collection, with each skull created inside an 11.1-minute session, and opens with an epigraph from Milton.
