Bustavo is the artistic name of Gustavo Muñoz, who writes generative code to draw with CNC plotters and to create digital moving images set to synthesized sound.,Trained as an industrial and systems engineer, he has explored the encounter between modular structures and organic forms since 2011, working with themes of time, space, nature, and system dynamics.
In 2009, he co-founded the international branding agency Anagrama, where he has led strategic planning and growth.,His work has been included in the group publication Tracing the Line (Vetro Editions, 2023), a survey of 100 contemporary pen plotter and drawing machine artists, and in the Processing Community Catalog (2021).,In 2024, his artwork appeared on the cover of Artifice, issue 32 of No Dear Magazine, and in 2025 he was a featured artist in issue 3 of Notch Magazine.,In September 2025, he released VIVOTECA on Art Blocks Studio, one of eight artworks commissioned for the Responsive Dreams Digital Arts Festival in Granollers, near Barcelona. The work uses the looping geometry of a torus to explore cycles of change and renewal, translating memories, fears, and happiness into light and color, and draws on the neon aesthetics of the 1980s.
