Bruno Gola (Brazilian, b. 1987) is a computational and sound artist, live coder, and programmer based in Berlin. He works with sound, code, and networks to create participative performances and installations, building much of his own software and hardware to explore auditory and spatial perception. He follows a DIY practice rooted in Free Software and Linux audio tools such as SuperCollider, occasionally contributing to SuperCollider's own development.
Born in São Paulo in 1987, Gola studied Computer Science in Brazil before moving to Berlin, where he earned Absolvent (2020) and Meisterschüler (2022) degrees in Art and Media from the Berlin University of the Arts (UdK Berlin) and has taught there since 2023. In 2022, he released c0l1v3, an experimental, non-linear, collaborative platform for live coding and distributed performances developed as part of his Meisterschüler research. In 2023, he began microwebs, a framework for spatial sound performances using smartphones, while working as an artist in residence at ZKM's Sonic Spaces program.
In 2024, Gola took part in “Passing Data — Upcycling the Digital”, an online exhibition curated by Tereza Havlíková and Katharina von Hagenow for Prater Digital's COPY PASTE WASTE program.,For the exhibition, the six artists searched their own computers and cloud storage for unused files and swapped them in pairs, folding the material into new work.Gola's contribution, developed using swapped data, was a piece titled Font of Possibilities.,
