Bio
Boris Chimp 504 is a Portuguese audiovisual duo formed by Rodrigo Carvalho, who creates real-time visuals, and Miguel Neto, who composes the sound. Active since 2010, the duo builds immersive audiovisual performances around a fictional narrative about Boris's journeys through deep space. The project's visuals stay abstract and largely black and white, suggesting spaceship interfaces, orbital trajectories, and morphing landscapes rather than depicting them literally.
Carvalho has said the project's minimal, black-and-white visual language draws on artists such as Ryoji Ikeda, along with science-fiction touchstones like Larry Cuba's 1985 film Calculated Movements.
