Lucius Ha, known as bluugu, is an artist and industrial designer whose work spans illustration, 3D art toys, wearable design and digital artefacts. His practice reflects a third-culture perspective that merges functionality with emotion and precision with storytelling, challenging conventional definitions of design as art. He trained in industrial design at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, earning a Bachelor of Industrial Design with Honours.
In 2019, Ha interned in Advanced Creation Footwear Design at Adidas and took part in a research program between Tokyo University, Chiba University and the Good Design Award Japan. His industrial design work has received a Good Design Award – Next Gen in 2018 and a Red Dot Award – Best of the Best in 2021. He has also worked as Creative Director of bluugu and bluulabs, co-director of OverlayWarehouse, and a sessional lecturer at RMIT's School of Industrial Design.
As bluugu, Ha has held solo exhibitions including “BLUUSTORY” at iHam Gallery in Paris in 2023 and “Welcome to bluuworld” at Nox Gallery in Tokyo in 2024.In November 2023, he released Move to Survive as Card #170 in The Memes by 6529, an edition of 333 minted on Ethereum, accompanied by a statement on persistence and continuous self-improvement as the substance of survival.His illustration work has also appeared in the “Hallyu! The Korean Wave” program at the National Museum of Australia in Canberra, including a magazine cover artwork in 2025 and holiday workshops in 2026.
