Blase is the name used by interdisciplinary artist and filmmaker Bruno Lasevicius to publish experiments with music, video, and algorithmic art. His work explores human-machine interaction through abstract forms and narratives, made across digital mediums and analog techniques such as editing, animation, 3D modelling, and procedural geometry. He describes his approach as “not about hitting a mark, but rather a relentless attempt at communicating”.
He began the film project Project Hertz in 2020 following a period of burnout and major life changes.Taking part in a workshop led by the artist and writer Léo Tavares prompted him to start filming his everyday surroundings. What began as documentation of daily life grew into a fictional documentary about labor, redemption, and unfulfilled negotiations. Around the end of 2021 he began making audio-reactive animations using VOID, a creative tool built by Triptcip. Increasing exposure to web3 and generative art drew him toward learning to code.He studied JavaScript and WebGPU through Arsiliath's Notochord course series and shifted his practice toward generative art. His collection Differential Threads was released on the platform fxhash.
