beervangeer is a Dutch interactive media artist working in the field of biofeedback art.,Using physiological data such as breathing and heart rate as an input, he creates generative works that draw on symbolism and sacred geometry to explore the human unconscious. He has released a series of generative art collections on Art Blocks since 2021, alongside a separate design practice applying biofeedback technology in healthcare settings.,
He studied digital media design and earned an M.A. from the School of Art in Utrecht in the Netherlands. After graduating, he worked as an interactive media designer building museum installations, then began experimenting with neurofeedback devices, a path that led him into healthcare. His first generative project, Dagaz (2009), used a user's brain activity to generate interactive mandala figures. He later founded Breathing Space, an interactive gallery in The Hague that screens generative art responding to a viewer's physiology.He also runs Ademruimte, a foundation that brings contemplative, interactive art into public space.
On Art Blocks, his early collections HyperHash (2021), EnergySculpture, UltraWave 369 and HashCrash translate biometric data into recognizable visual symbols.,HyperHash imagined a multidimensional language for transferring energy between people, inspired by the science-fiction novel Star Maker (1937) by Olaf Stapledon.HashCrash referenced Neal Stephenson's novel Snow Crash and reflected the addictive, seductive side of NFT culture.EnergySculpture depicts flowers expanding and contracting in a slow, rhythmic motion.UltraWave 369 explores circularity and wholeness through minimalist, pastel-toned circles and lines.In The Field (2023), he compressed several hundred works from these earlier collections into a 64-by-64 noise matrix he called The Generator. The Generator became the core of a new algorithm producing a shifting field of color and motion that explores cycles of creation and destruction.The Field, his fifth Art Blocks project, launched on Art Blocks Curated on January 4, 2023.,
In 2025, he collaborated with the nonprofit Web3 platform Supergood and anthropologist Jérémy Narby on MazeFlipper, a set of 96 generative works on Art Blocks inspired by the Kene patterns of the Shipibo people of Peru. Six of the works were also reproduced as embroidered textile pieces by Shipibo women, with proceeds supporting medicinal gardens in Shipibo villages through the NGO Nouvelle Planète.He has also shown Totem : Symbols of Change, created with Studio Poca, in a group exhibition on spirituality in modern life at the Stedelijk Museum Schiedam in the Netherlands, alongside a painting by Wassily Kandinsky.
