Bio

Bárbara Bezina (Argentine, b. 1980) is a self-taught artist working across analog and digital photography, painting and drawing.^, Her photographic work centers on long-exposure and multiple-exposure self-portraits, made using film she develops herself.^, She began drawing as a child, moved into painting and digital art, and at 28 relocated to a mountain village in San Juan, Argentina, to devote herself fully to art.^,

Since then she has lived on a self-sustaining piece of land with her husband, away from the city, surrounded by plants and animals.^,^, Her interest in photography grew out of her digital art practice. Working alone in a remote place with no access to models, she began photographing herself, and self-portraiture became a recurring element of her work. She favors long exposure combined with double or multiple exposures, and often works with expired film.^, Describing her process, she has said “it's all about experimenting and experimenting to find what you like”.

Since 2018 she has released photography and digital art as NFTs across platforms including Objkt and SuperRare. In September 2022 she showed Celestina, along with Reconfiguration and Almoria, in a gallery curated by Valuart at the Plug-Mi festival in Milan. In April 2023 Valuart Solos presented a solo exhibition of her work exploring what it called “the delicate, intrinsic interplay between Photography, Art and Nature”.
