Bio

Barabeke is an Italian digital artist and novelist who works across fractal photomontage, glitch art, and AI-assisted image-making.^, He has made digital art since 2007 and began releasing his work as NFTs in 2019, reworking paintings by Leonardo da Vinci in a series he calls Transfiguration.

In 2023 he began working with AI-assisted tools in Mona Lisa Reloaded, a series of portraits that reinterpret Leonardo da Vinci's Mona Lisa. Another work, A CryptoPunk from 1844 (Gustave Courbet), reworks a self-portrait by Gustave Courbet into pixel art, repeating a single image thousands of times with variations and glitches layered across its surface. The Giant Kahuna is a 6.7-gigapixel digital image. Its first 150 sections, out of 1,000, have been individually numbered and minted as Visions of the Giant Kahuna.

Barabeke has also written under the framework of Demianism, a doctrine of thirteen axioms he says he received, three metaphysical and ten of an ethical, social, and political nature. He presents the doctrine in a manifesto and a book, both released online in English and Italian.
