Asaf Slook: About

Bio

Asaf Slook is a generative artist who creates art using computer code, exploring how simple visual elements like circles and grids interact when repeated and transformed algorithmically.^, He came to the medium from a career as a front-end engineer, discovering creative coding through Daniel Shiffman's tutorials before finding further inspiration in artists releasing work on Art Blocks and fxhash.

His series Apollo takes its name from Orphism and the work of Robert Delaunay and Sonia Delaunay, and centers on circles and how they interact with other shapes. In July 2023 he released Backwards, a fixed edition of 300 unique animated works on Art Blocks Presents, accompanied by a poem about a child who discovers a shape from a few connected dots and, as an adult, sits down to recreate it from memory.^,

Intuitive, a 250-piece collection developed over four stages between 2024 and 2025, moved from Apollo's circles to compositions where shapes are “almost ordered in grids” but overlap or repel from one another.^, Iconic released Intuitive in May 2025, with each digital piece paired with a matching museum-quality print.^,
