Arsiliath is an artist and programmer who uses nature-inspired algorithms and physics simulations to create coded life-forms that evoke organic characteristics. Trained in both computer science and design, Arsiliath draws on researchers and artists including Sage Jenson, Dagmar Iber and Andy Lomas, and also teaches programming and art classes.
In January 2023 Arsiliath and Monotau released Chrysalis on fxhash, their first collaboration together. Later that year Arsiliath contributed to Ilusiones Arbóreas, a collection exploring the relationship between humanity, technology and nature made together with A.L. Crego, Helena Sarín, Presstube and Michaël Zancan, curated by Ignacio Sutan and Zancan for “NFT Show Europe 2023” in Valencia. In materials for the collection, curators Ignacio Sutan and Yujia Liu wrote that “Arsiliath is the one that showed me the world of BioArt and Artificial lifeforms”.
A piece from Ilusiones Arbóreas was later included in a satellite exhibition of objkt-minted works at Becoming Art in Jeju, South Korea, shown from September 5 to October 31, 2024.
