Anna Beller (German, b. 1984) is a painter and architect whose work explores color relationships and transparency across analog painting and digital tools, including pen plotting.,Born in Berlin, she trained and worked as an architect in Switzerland, the UK and Germany before studying painting in Berlin from 2019 to 2022, and lives and works in Hanover.,
In June 2022 she released her Tezos genesis project Circle Studies, investigating shape and color with a nod to the Bauhaus. She has cited the American abstract painters Helen Frankenthaler and Morris Louis as influences, drawing on Frankenthaler's soak-stain technique in her analog paintings.In 2023 she exhibited Red Shapes, a geometric study built from paper stencil offcuts left over from a series of spray paintings,in “FEMGEN” at Marfa's Glitch Gallery.,
Since 2023 she has developed Lacquer Works, unstretched paintings in which she pours and directs viscous lacquer across canvas without tools, letting gravity and the drying process act as co-creators of the final composition.,The series began within what she calls “phygital art”, and her first lacquer paintings were sold as photographs overlaid with a digitally drawn grid and issued as NFTs.Lacquer Works have entered the collections of Hannover's Artothek and Haus der Region,and in 2024 Hannover's Kubus municipal gallery installed her piece Shades 01 as part of the exhibition “Public Parts II”.
In 2023 she began collaborating with the artist Alejandro Campos, pairing his generative vector compositions with her manual taping and spray-painting process in the series Draftwerk.That year she also showed work in the “Node to Node” art salon in Paris with Kate Vass Galerie.In 2025 she held the solo exhibition “Zufall und Maschine” at Haus der Region in Hanover.,
