Bio

Andy Schwetz is a German fine art photographer born and based in Munich.^, For more than a decade he has photographed abandoned and neglected places, most extensively the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone, framing them as sites where nature slowly reclaims what people leave behind.^, He mints his photographs as NFTs, treating the blockchain as both an archive and a medium that preserves the images against disappearance.

His series CONTAMINATED documents the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone, made over four expeditions between 2014 and 2022. He describes walking through abandoned villages, collapsing schools and the ghost city of Pripyat as an oppressive but grounding stillness. His ongoing series No Man's Land, begun in 2014, examines the traces humans leave on landscapes through neglect and disruption. His series Gardens of Time, begun in 2013, focuses on nature reclaiming forgotten, human-made structures.

He mints and sells his work across platforms including SuperRare, Foundation and Manifold, under editions such as Pathfinder and Stranded. On 6 July 2026 he contributed photography to p.i.x.e.l.l.a.n.d.i.a., a collaborative generative project by the artist p.i.x.e.l.l.a.r.e. released through the objkt Labs residency.
