Andrew Thomas Huang

Bio

Andrew Thomas Huang (American, b. 1984) is a visual artist, writer and director who crafts hybrid fantasy worlds and mythical dreamscapes. His films, animations and installations combine mythology, science fiction and queer ancestral futurism, drawing on his background in animation, puppetry and visual effects. He has directed music videos for Björk, FKA twigs and Thom Yorke.

Huang was born in Los Angeles and graduated from the University of Southern California with a degree in Fine Arts and Animation. His work draws on his Chinese heritage and on queer Asian mythology and folklore. Flesh Nest is a series of animations that evokes a post-apocalyptic digital purgatory inspired by paintings of Hieronymus Bosch and Pieter Bruegel.
