In 2021 he released the generative series Active Gestures on the platform Foundation, mixing hand-drawn forms with material effects such as plumes of smoke to produce uncanny, shadowy patterns.That December, his work was included in “RIP HEN: A Tribute to Hic et Nunc”, a physical exhibition curated by Jesse Draxler drawing on more than 1,000 pieces collected from the Hic et Nunc platform.His work with WebGL has been cited as an inspiration for the artist Kim Asendorf, who began exploring the technology in 2017 partly in response to Benson's work.
In February 2026, as several NFT platforms shut down or were acquired, Benson wrote on social media that “the slow dissolve of all NFT art platforms is actually proof of the initial premise” of decentralization.
