Bell has repeatedly contributed character designs to Pictoplasma's open calls and festival exhibitions between 2018 and 2020, including a character loop screened at the festival's Berlin edition in 2018.³ His series Energy Sketch began as loose, meditative drawing sessions that let his mind go blank before being refined into finished shapes. It was published as a hardback art book and released as a collection of 150 one-of-one NFTs sold through OpenSea.⁴

Bell also animated Me Bogie, part of a series of short animations adapting the Newcastle writer Mark James's autobiographical stories about growing up in Byker.⁵ A set of his illustrations, Tower, was shown in “Nowt Special”, a group exhibition of local artists at Newcastle's TyneBank Brewery.⁶
