Andrea Belloni is an Italian generative artist who writes all of his own code, using custom-built software rather than off-the-shelf digital art tools or post-processing.,His work visualises mathematical equations, cellular automata and fractal geometry such as strange attractors and Mandelbrot sets, alongside organic forms generated from self-similar noise patterns.
Belloni holds a physics degree from La Sapienza University in Rome, where he became interested in complex systems, chaos theory and fractals. He then spent several years working in robotics, control systems and data analysis. After years of making generative visual simulations for his own satisfaction, he began releasing reworked versions of older programs alongside new pieces as NFTs, on the Tezos, Ethereum and Bitcoin blockchains. He has since explored Bitcoin Ordinals inscriptions for later work.
Landscapes out of my mind, the third of his landscape-themed pieces, renders terrain using simplex noise and fractional Brownian motion, with trees generated through a space colonization algorithm and placed by Poisson disk sampling.Sliced Time, a long-form generative collection released on Bitcoin, borrows the idea of phasing from contemporary music, applying slightly offset timing across a grid of animated surfaces whose patterns are driven in real time by the interval between mined blocks. The series was inspired by the Op Art prompt of Genuary 2025's nineteenth day and was featured by the publication The Edit.
Belloni has exhibited in Paris, Amsterdam, Berlin, Miami and Singapore, including at “Art Basel Miami” during Miami Art Week in 2023.His release Fluid Geometry debuted on the Bitcoin NFT platform Gamma as a seven-day timed edition, with its final supply determined only once the mint window closed.,When We Leave was released on Gamma as a free presale of 80 editions, inscribed with parent-child provenance and made available to collectors of his other Gamma prints.
