Amalia Versaci: About

Bio

Amalia Versaci is a visual artist based in Princeton, New Jersey, working across collage, painting, drawing and digital media. She studied Printmaking at the Rhode Island School of Design and mints and sells her digital work as NFTs on the Ethereum and Tezos blockchains. Her practice centers on color and shape, exploring how the two interact in abstract compositions.

Between 2018 and 2021 she made a body of physical work on paper, canvas and panel using oil pastel, charcoal, mixed media and colored pencil. Pieces from this period include Titans of Industry, a mixed-media work on panel from 2018, and Her Exoskeleton, a colored-pencil drawing on cotton paper from 2021.^,

Her digital work is organized into named collections: the Archival collection of 2018 pieces such as Hibiscus, Scuba and Briny Deep, the Studies collection from 2021, and Elasticity, a 2021 set of animated video pieces. In 2022 she released Color Theory, twelve compositions making up the first part of that series, alongside the Every Body collection of digital collages. In 2023 her work was included in “Embodied”, an exhibition curated by Danielle King for NFT Show Europe in Valencia, Spain, that focused on works by women-identifying artists exploring the female body.^,
