Alexis André, also known by the handle MacTuitui, is a generative artist who writes code-based works that take shape as both digital collections and physical objects.,He has lived and worked in Japan for many years.As of December 2022, André was one of the directors of the Japan Generative Art Foundation, established that year by fellow generative artist Shunsuke Takawo.
André's 2021 Art Blocks work 720 Minutes was among seventeen projects featured in “Milestones: A History of Generative Breakthroughs on Art Blocks”, a 2025 exhibition curated by Kate Vass.,The exhibition named André one of twenty artists whose work traced five years of experimentation on Art Blocks.Art Blocks founder Erick Calderon conceived a collection of physical friendship bracelets. André designed the collection both aesthetically and programmatically, pairing generative color palettes with embroidery floss. Titled Friendship Bracelets, it was offered as a free mint to Art Blocks collectors and grew to roughly 38,000 pieces.
In 2023, André showed the generative tapestry Navette at the Non Fungible Conference in Lisbon, with its booth placed at the center of the venue.In October 2025, André took part in “CODE + MATTER” in Paris during Art Basel Paris Week, alongside Julien Espagnon, William Mapan and Florian Zumbrunn.,The exhibition presented the four artists' physical outputs of algorithms — paintings, sculptures, reworked prints and installations.
