Aeneas Middleton (American, b. 1980) is a multidisciplinary artist who paints layered, dream- and synesthesia-driven mixed-media canvases and also works as a multi-platinum music producer and film director. His father named him after the Trojan hero Aeneas, and he has said he tries to express himself as though he were living that figure's story thousands of years later.
Starting in 2005 he worked as a music producer with artists including Nelly, Akon, Chamillionaire, Chingy, Juelz Santana and Pretty Ricky, releasing through Universal Records and Warner Bros. He later moved into filmmaking and, in 2012, founded the luxury fashion house Royal Middleton Collection in New York City. The brand's footwear, accessories and clothing carry his own royal insignia logo. He has said its color palettes draw on the Aeneid, Virgil's epic about the Trojan hero who gave him his name.
