Adrian Pocobelli (Italian-Canadian, b. 1979) is a painter and digital artist who finds inspiration in everyday images,reworking postcards, photographs and figures from art history into paintings and prints.,Based in Berlin since 2016,he founded Artist Journal in 2022, an online video channel featuring underrepresented digital artists alongside his own commentary on blockchain-based art.
Pocobelli was born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, and developed an early fascination with images after a childhood trip to the Vatican and being given his late Italian grandfather's stamp collection.,He studied visual art and English literature at the University of Saskatchewan, later completing a Master's thesis on J.G. Ballard's novel The Atrocity Exhibition. He then worked as a graphic designer in Montreal and as a news editor in Toronto before relocating to Berlin in September 2016.
His work has been shown in group and solo exhibitions in Berlin, including at Fata Morgana and Factory Berlin, between 2017 and 2018.Beginning around 2019, Pocobelli developed the series The Peloponnesian War, which retells Thucydides' history of the war using an iPhone as his drawing tool and Greek vase paintings as source imagery.,He has also produced acrylic silkscreen prints on paper that rework figures and motifs from Renaissance painting, including works referencing Raphael and Bellini.In 2024 Pocobelli took part in “Paul Klee Digital”, a Kulturmuseum Bern show curated by Jürg Kobel of the GIF Gallery, in which invited artists reimagined the symbols and colors of Paul Klee's work as GIFs.,
Through Artist Journal, Pocobelli has introduced other artists to the objkt community. The artist Yuran Yakon has said he discovered the show in August 2024, while beginning to explore blockchain art.In 2025 he founded the Pocobelli Collection, a multichain online gallery spanning Bitcoin, Ethereum and Tezos that features artists working at the forefront of digital art.In November 2025 Pocobelli took part in a panel on taste in digital art at Art on Tezos: Berlin, alongside a collector and a curator. He said that “history, process, and style” are the qualities that draw him to a work of art.
