abstractment is the pseudonymous identity of a self-taught creative coder and generative artist whose day job as a diplomat has taken him through cultural hubs including Thailand, Rwanda and Samoa. Rather than a single distinct style, his generative work favors exploration and experimentation, shaped by the varied cultures he encounters in his diplomatic postings. He found his way into generative art through CryptoPunks, then Art Blocks, gen.art and fxhash.
His genesis collection, Clew, uses 27 hand-tuned colour palettes built after he studied Tyler Hobbs's essays on colour theory, and grew out of an original circle-based system he expanded into other shapes at the suggestion of the gen.art community. Clew's floor price passed 100 Tezos on fxhash in June 2022. He followed it with #symmetriClew, honouring Clew #205, the only symmetrical output in the 567-piece Clew collection, airdropping 141 free pieces to holders of at least five Clews.
