A-Mashiro is a Tokyo-based painter, photographer and digital artist who has been creating for over twenty years, starting out in oils and acrylics before also taking up photography. His early, emotion-driven paintings gradually gave way to a focus on color and composition, which he has described as a way of maintaining emotional balance and projecting an ideal image onto his work.
He began trading cryptocurrencies as an investment and discovered Tezos' NFT ecosystem in 2021, minting his first NFTs after learning that NFT art was being exhibited in a museum. His earliest works were photo manipulations made on an iPad, before he moved to painted pieces and later worked with a Wacom pen tablet. He credits his childhood in an old house in rural Japan, surrounded by nature, as a continuing source of creative energy.
In August 2022, he sold Delight for 6.49 ETH, a record sale for him at the time. That December, coverage of “Right Click Live” in Tokyo named him among a small group of Japanese NFT artists gaining recognition abroad. Like the others in that group, he had used English from the outset to reach collectors beyond Japan. For “Bright Moments Tokyo”, he released Misalignment, a hand-painted edition of 100, saying “my primary goal is for viewers to find enjoyment & beauty in it”.In the series Primitives, he turned to generative art composed of simple shapes and lines, using AI to support the technical process while keeping the work's conceptual foundation his own.In December 2025 he took part in “Advent Collaboration”, a 24-day digital advent calendar of one-of-one collaborative artworks led by Jenni Pasanen and hosted through Transient Labs.
