Bio

1dontknows (Thai, b. 1996) creates surrealist digital collages that fuse classical painting with dreamlike, fragmented imagery. Working from Bangkok, Thailand, he builds each piece in Photoshop around a central figure, layering in hidden details and often covering or blacking out the figure's face. He has said the covered faces echo images of a faceless nun and reflect his own shyness.

He names Salvador Dalí, Hieronymus Bosch, and René Magritte as favorite influences. He started out in graphic design and moved into his first job before being made redundant during the Covid-19 pandemic in 2021. Seeing another artist's digital collage work first opened his eyes to the medium. Discovering Surrealism later brought his style into focus. He has chosen to focus his full attention on his art.

His series Echoes of Self presents surreal portraits built from dreamlike collage, using recurring symbols — books, keys, moons, eyes, checkered spaces — to suggest identity as something fluid rather than fixed. In April 2022 his Carpe Diem sold for 2.3 ETH (about $7,056), reported at the time as a record price for his work. His work was auctioned at Sotheby's in 2023^, and shown at Art Basel Miami with Unfold Gallery in 2022. He has also contributed to 6529's Memes collection, including card #498, The Meme Market.
