People can't be happy all the time. Tragically, our culture is so deeply saturated with filters and surface gloss that it denies us the right to be truly alive—to be sad, angry, terrified, or beautifully inconsistent. It’s okay to not be okay. It’s entirely normal to feel hurt when your feelings are dismissed or your boundaries are breached. It's okay to rail against circumstances or even people; anger is a signal emotion, a red flag pointing directly to the wound. You can be on top of the world one day, and isolated and disillusioned the next. The key is to remember that none of these seasons are permanent, and to just keep moving forward.
